What is palliative care home care?
When facing a serious or life-limiting illness, it’s understandable that most people would prefer to stay at home, surrounded by loved ones and familiar comforts. Our palliative home care is designed to help you stay comfortable and live how you want to during the final months or years of your life.
Our professional carers come to you, helping to manage symptoms, maintain comfort and preserve dignity. Palliative care can begin early in a diagnosis or later as needs become more complex. Our carers work closely with families and health professionals to provide a consistent, compassionate presence throughout.

Mobility
Helping you safely move around your home.
Why choose palliative care at home?
Being at home allows people to spend their time in familiar surroundings, close to loved ones, pets, memories and routines that bring comfort. It offers privacy, choice and the chance to live fully in the time that remains.
For families, it brings peace of mind, knowing someone is there to help with the hard moments, the practicalities, and the emotional weight that often comes with this stage of life. With Visiting Angels, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to do this without help.

When should I arrange palliative care?
What’s the difference between palliative and hospice care?
Palliative care focuses on improving comfort and quality of life for those with serious or life-limiting illnesses, and it can be provided at any stage of an illness. Hospice care is a type of palliative care typically offered during the final months or weeks of life, when curative treatments have stopped.
Does palliative care mean end of life?
Not necessarily. While palliative care is often part of end-of-life care, it can be introduced much earlier to help manage symptoms and improve day-to-day comfort. Many people receive palliative care for months (or even years) alongside treatments and therapies. It’s about supporting life as fully as possible, for as long as possible.
How long does palliative care last?
There’s no set timeline. Palliative care continues for as long as you need it, whether that’s a few weeks, several months or longer. We can adapt the level of support we provide over time, providing steady, compassionate care that evolves with you.
