What’s the difference between a gastrostomy and a feeding tube?
A gastrostomy is a medical procedure where a small opening in the stomach is created to insert the feeding tube. A feeding tube is a broader term that refers to any tube used to deliver nutrition directly to your stomach, including gastrotomy tubes (G-tubes), nasogastric tubes (NG tubes) and others.
