We have been using the services of Visiting Angels to provide 24 hour live in care for our Mum, following a couple of falls and hip operations.
All the carers they have provided have been very kind and gentle with Mum. Sally has been looking after Mum on a regular basis and she not only provides great care but also great company for Mum, when Dad has his head buried in a book or watching sport on TV.
Debbie has also kept in regular contact with Mum and the family making sure that we are happy with the care being provided.

1am on Tuesday and in comes Emily. She’s like a breath of fresh air. We talk and decide what we will do together today. It could be a short walk, tidy the cupboards, weed the patio or paint by numbers. The possibilities are endless. We chat all the time. She’s very easy to be with. She loves to be in the garden. She tells me about her dogs and about Flyball. So you see she’s educating me. We chat about Debbie and her chicks. Our time together is lovely. When it’s time for her to go she always says Tuesdays are her favourite day.. they are mine too. So with a big hug and love she’s off to make someone else happy that’s Emily. And there’s so much more for another day - Bonnie Dolman

My mother in law is living with dementia and was resistant to the idea of carers at first. She has bonded with the carers and built a beautiful relationship. The girls always greet her with warmth and it is so lovely to see the way they support and interact with her.
Thank you Visiting Angels, keep up the good work!

Visiting Angels have allowed my dad to stay at home, where he loves. Their support is a real source of reassurance for us, his family, who are some distance away, as we know someone is keeping an eye on him and will step in if anything is needed.

Why Maidenhead families choose Visiting Angels

  • Better-supported carers, better care — we put our carers at the heart of the business; respected, supported, fairly paid carers deliver better care and stay longer.
  • Consistency that matters – the same familiar faces week after week, which is vital when memory is fragile.
  • Choose Your Caregiver — you and your loved one have a genuine say in who comes into the home, matched on personality as well as skill.
  • The right match, guaranteed — if the fit isn’t right, we’ll change it, no awkwardness.
  • CQC registered and regulated — verify our registration at cqc.org.uk
  • Rated 5.0 on Google — by the families we care for across Maidenhead, Windsor & surrounding Berkshire villages.
  • Fully trained, DBS-checked carers — every single one, before they ever set foot in your home.
  • Trained in safe manual handling — carers move and support your loved one safely, protecting their dignity and reducing the risk of falls or injury.
  • Free, no-obligation home visit — we come to you, listen, and build the plan around your loved one.

Local carers who go the extra mile

We carefully select, train and retain the best carers — not just those with experience, but those who genuinely care. Ours are known as Angel Carers, and we treat them with the same respect and warmth we want them to bring into your loved one’s home.

Because we invest in our carers with proper training, fair pay and real support, they stay with us long-term. For someone living with dementia, that continuity is everything — you’ll see the same familiar faces week after week, not a revolving door of strangers, so trust has the chance to build and routines stay steady.

And we match on more than skills. Personality, shared interests and a genuine understanding of the person behind the diagnosis all go into finding the right carer — because the right fit is what makes care feel less like a service and more like someone you’re glad to have around.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dementia Care in Maidenhead

Do you provide specialist dementia care at home in Maidenhead?

Yes. Visiting Angels Maidenhead provides specialist dementia care in your loved one’s own home, delivered by carers specifically trained to support people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Care is one-to-one, built around the individual, and designed to keep them safe and settled in familiar surroundings.

For many people, yes — and it’s often the best thing for them. Staying at home preserves the routines, surroundings and familiarity that reduce confusion and distress. With the right support in place, people living with dementia can continue to live safely and comfortably at home, often for far longer than families expect.

In many cases, we can have care in place within a matter of days. We understand dementia needs can change suddenly — after a fall, a hospital stay, or a decline in memory — and our local Maidenhead team works as quickly as possible to get the right support in place.

Yes. Every carer is fully trained in dementia and Alzheimer’s support and DBS-checked before they begin. Just as importantly, we match carers for consistency, so your loved one sees the same familiar faces rather than a rotating team of strangers.

Hourly dementia care in Maidenhead typically starts from around £30–£40 per hour, depending on the level of support needed, with live-in options also available. Every plan is tailored, so the best way to get an accurate figure is a free home visit — we’ll talk you through the costs openly, with no obligation.

Live-in care in Maidenhead with Visiting Angels is priced per week rather than per hour. Our live-in care starts from £2,000 per week, reflecting the round-the-clock dedicated support, fully vetted carer, and personalised care plan included in the service. There are no hidden fees, no travel charges and no PPE surcharges. When compared to the average cost of a care home in Berkshire, live-in care is often comparable — with the significant advantage that your loved one stays in their own home. Call us on 01753 306187 for a precise quote or book a free no-obligation home assessment.
