Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to individuals in the home care setting, ensuring their wellbeing and comfort. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives through personalised care and assistance. The Care Assistant will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver tailored care plans in a respectful and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Support clients with medication management as per care plans and instructions
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ wellbeing
- Help with meal preparation and feeding if required, ensuring dietary needs are met
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in clients’ conditions
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care needs
- Assist with light domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organising personal spaces
- Drive or accompany clients to appointments or outings when necessary
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Good IT skills for maintaining records and documentation
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel or client transportation
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
