Welcome to Visiting Angels Harrogate District, Nidderdale and Wharfedale

Home Care Harrogate District, Nidderdale, Knaresborough and surrounding areas

Visiting Angels is now in North and West Yorkshire providing our brand of services to elderly and vulnerable adults in the community. Our Angels are trained to provide companionship visits, personal care, outings, mobility assistance, medication support and elderly home care.

We specialize in supporting loved ones with a wide range of needs from dementia or mobility support to doctor’s visits or a walk in the park.

We’re aware that you have a choice when it comes to deciding on the home care provider for your loved ones. Visiting Angels is the enabler you have been looking for to provide the care your loved ones deserve.

Our Services

This type of care is often accessed as a way to increase confidence in the community. Our caregivers can assist in taking clients to doctor’s appointments, help get the weekly shopping, go for walks in local gardens and get coffee. This type of care also helps families who are often full-time caregivers to take some time to look after themselves knowing their loved one is well looked after.

This care is our most frequently sought-after. This care can be as extensive as required, from helping get dressed in the morning with reminders to take medications to showering and assistance with toileting. Our care is personalized to the individual and our goal is to maintain as much independence as possible whilst maintaining dignity and respect. By receiving personal care at home this helps people to stay in the comforts of their own home rather than moving into assisted living.

This type of care involves specialized training which every caregiver responsible will receive. This can include but is not limited to, assistance with catheters, urostomy bags, and PEG feeds. Our caregivers receive the highest quality training and can access further training as needs progress.

Care during end of life is so important to get right, we understand the importance of offering the utmost quality care, respect and dignity at these stages. We are even more flexible at these stages to be able to adjust care needs even between visits to ensure our care is fully inclusive and representative of the client.

We are a Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated home care business that understands that the best possible care for your loved ones can only be provided by a business that puts its care staff at the very centre of the business.  Being carer centric means that our staff are happy with their work, valued by their employers and loved by their clients.  Cornerstone to how we do business and different from the rest of the home care industry, Visiting Angels assists our clients in choosing their caregivers (Angels).

Meet the Team

Sarah Glynn – Registered Manager

I have been in the care sector for nearly 18 years, throughout that time I have seen some amazing examples of care. My passion for quality person centered care is at the heart of everything I do, whether it be through training, team meetings or supervision, where care givers are supported secure and happy in their role they provide a higher quality of care.

Allowing both care givers and clients to reach their potential is my ethos in conjunction with the carer centric approach at Visiting Angels allowing us to watch as our caregivers flourish in this supportive environment.

Stephen — Care Coordinator

Stephen’s journey into care is as unique as it is inspiring. His professional life first began in welding, a career that took him across the world, allowing him to travel extensively and gain invaluable life experience.

However, when the pandemic hit, Stephen returned home and found himself supporting his grandparents through their health challenges. It was during this time that he discovered his natural compassion and ability to care for others — and he’s never looked back since.

Stephen began his career in care as a Caregiver, quickly standing out for his dedication, reliability, and the genuine relationships he builds with clients. His commitment and understanding of what excellent care looks like led to a swift promotion to Care Coordinator.

Stephen now plays a key role in ensuring our clients receive the highest quality, consistent care, while also supporting and mentoring our care team. His personal experience and hands-on approach mean he understands every aspect of the service — making him an invaluable part of the Visiting Angels family.

Elizabeth – Apprentice Administrator

Elizabeth was 16 when she joine Visiting Angels team. She has a passion for business and having an opportunity to work in the care sector has expanded her horizons to areas where her skills can be put to use. Her personal experience of her grandad passing away gave her a new perspective seeing how much she cares for people and how a job in the care sector allows her to help people and effect change in people’s lives both clients and their families.

“Thank for literally being “visiting angels” to dad. Without you his life would not have that magic touch you brought to him. You will be treasured for your work.”

John

“I want to thank you for sending me such a wonderful Angel to help me during my recuperation. I always felt safe and comfortable when she was here.”
