This place is a cozy and friendly environment, as they are very carer eccentric, they have a kitchen area for you to come to relax in between shifts, stocked up with hot or cold drinks and snacks, and even a place to just come and study. I did my training last month with this company with such an amazing team, management is always around to help with any questions or if you need any advice. Not only do they give proper professional training!!! They also give you the opportunity to study to move up in your career, I’m so happy I’ve given visiting angels a chance. My present carer is Rejaya. She has been coming regularly. for some months now and I am delighted to have her as my carer and companion. I am able to ask for any care I need and feel completely safe with all she does, showering, shampooing, and dressing- including hairdressing! She treats me with great care and respect. Her visits have made life so much brighter.

I have been confined to the house for years since my stroke and felt very isolated but Rejeya is happy to take me out when we have a suitable day of fair weather and I am happy to enjoy the outside world.

In recent years more and more people have opted to take a direct payment from the Local Authority in lieu of care delivered. By making this choice you will be able to choose the care provider that you want to work with not just the one that the council selects.

If you qualify for social care funding it is possible to top up your care package with a small additional payment to enable you to fund your care with Visiting Angels. We are also able to introduce you to advisors locally who can help you to fund your care needs.

Roxie Taj

Managing Director

The Managing Director, Roxie Taj is a long term resident of Oldham and has worked in the Oldham community for a great many years of her life sharing voluntary work experiences within the Fire Service and Criminal Justice System which involved working alongside the Courts, Probation Service and Victim and Witness Support Service.

Complementing her community experience with her Business qualification, she has long been aware of the difficulties faced by her local community, particularly in Health and Social Care. Roxie has been privileged on a one-to-one basis through her previous job roles to hear first hand from community members whom she supported, what services are required and how they should be delivered.

Sixteen years ago Roxie was blessed with a daughter with Downs and for many years relied on carers to support her daughter’s needs. This often turned out to be a nightmare e.g. no regular carers, a lack of consistency in care etc. Carers were either late, didn’t turn up or they turned up with their own emotional baggage resulting in half of the care time being taken up in listening to the carers issues. She decided that if you want a job doing, then do it yourself. Roxie undertook the venture to launch a care franchise to support the care needs of her local community. Before embarking on her own, she spent 5 years working within the care sector to gain valuable insight and experience before taking the next step.

Visiting Angels was chosen after much research to find an organisation which was more in tune with the care givers who delivered care rather than the the sole prospect of making money. Visiting Angels rewards and values its carers. This carer-centric approach results in happier clients and a quality service.

Badar Usmani

Registered Manager

Badar Usmani comes to Visiting Angels Manchester East with 12 years of experience in domiciliary care. During this time Badar owned and managed a care business as the Registered Manager. Consequently, Badar has developed excellent service delivery techniques and honed his expertise to align with a carer-centric model that underpins our award-winning service.

Badar previously spent 25 years of his career as an academic focusing on cancers where he established a leading reputation in his field of prostate cancer.

Badar’s wealth of experience and expertise in domiciliary care is now available to benefit Oldham and the Greater Manchester community requiring care at home.

Badar says “it’s good to talk, give me a call. I’m never too busy for you.”

Care Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jodi and I am the Care coordinator for Visiting Angels Manchester East. I have worked in the care sector for over 10 years in various roles and have never looked back.

My main responsibilities as the care coordinator will be ensuring rotas are covered and running smoothly and that the care provided is second to none.

I also can help deal with any queries relating to home care. I have achieved my level 4 in adult health and social care and will be working towards my level 5.

I am passionate and dedicated to ensuring the best quality care is provided on a person-centred basis, which is one of the reasons I choose to apply at Visiting Angels.

They genuinely care for all their staff and service users and are on a mission to provide nothing but excellent care.
