Experience / Knowledge
- Relevant management experience in adult residential services / care
- Relevant experience of management and leadership and supporting others to achieve
- A thorough understanding of the Care Act, CQC’s Essential Standards and other relevant standards
- Thorough understanding of the regulatory responsibilities and the law relating to domiciliary care services.
- An understanding of the uniqueness of providing a tailored home care service
- Excellent understanding of the needs of people who require care and support and the provision of care services in line with best practice.
- Excellent understanding of the principles of high-quality person-centred care and support and non-discriminatory care practice
- Experience working with external personnel responsible for compliance and standards.
- Understanding of systems to maintain confidentiality in relation to residents, staff, and the business.
- Knowledge of health and safety matters in relation to care services and risk management.
- Knowledge of how to recognise abuse and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience of auditing, reporting and developing action plans
- Experience of managing and developing an effective staff team including recruitment, training, supporting and supervising staff
Main Duties
- Assist with the orientation and induction of new Caregivers.
- Ensure that Supervision and Annual Reviews take places for all Caregivers.
- To ensure that Visiting Angels Aims & Objectives are achieved and to ensure that each client receives care and support which is appropriate to their individual needs.
- To ensure the implementation and compliance of all relevant legislation and regulatory body guidance
- To ensure that Clients have a lifestyle according to their wishes, and that it is as meaningful and purposeful as possible.
- To ensure that all Clients have a person-centred Care Plan
- To ensure successful operation of risk management processes.
- To ensure that there is good communication and effective team building amongst all staff, including holding regular team meetings.
- Ensure successful operation of quality control systems.
- Liaison with clients, relatives, representatives and social workers.
- Preparation of management reports.
- To actively participate in the growth and development of the business, locally, through various marketing exercises.
