I have recently changed my career path from a store manager of 20 years to become a carer , this is something I wish I had done 20 years ago, as I have never been in a job that is so rewarding.
From the day I started, I knew immediately that I had made one of the best decisions of my life, joining the angels . My colleagues are also totally different to previous jobs as they genuinely show care , consideration and compassion towards their job and the clients this is mainly because of how they are treated from the management, again this is something completely new to myself being looked after, appreciated and knowing I am listened to and can go to any management any time, and will be supported. We have reward and recognition which again keeps the spirits of everybody high with positivity.
The service that we provide for our clients , I would more than 100% let any of the team take care of any of my family members, if and when the care was needed. The standard of care is outstanding and so many colleagues go above and beyond because they are so dedicated to their job! And their clients.
Visiting angels has been the best company I have ever worked for, as a young carer out there it can be scary, but with full training and support you will never Be happier in a job. I have never felt so appreciated for my work, I have never felt that I don’t have anywhere to turn because the office staff are always there with open arms! I think it’s amazing that we get chance to grow in this industry and we aren’t just a number to them, I couldn’t praise them enough if I tried! They have honestly been amazing.
I am a widowed mother of 3 Beautiful Daughters whom I am Very proud of .For 10 years I nursed my Husband at home with Bowel , Lung and Brain Cancer until he passed away in 2017 .Within that time I sort after the help I needed to assist me in being able to take care of him with my 3 young girls. I know what it’s like to feel helpless and lost, I also know what good care is when searching for help to take care and being able to entrust them with your loved ones.
I found Visiting Angels in May 2022 , I can honestly say that this company is like no other I’ve experienced. Becoming a carer for me was important, to be able to care and support people like they were one of my own, providing the support and love everyone needs in times of feeling vulnerable .We are a genuine work family, All caring and Supportive of each other in turn this enables us to care and support our clients and their Families in their time of need .With me knowing what it is like being on the other side , All I can say is I am Very Proud and honoured to be apart of this wonderful team !

I have recently joined Visiting Angels as Registered Manager. I have a varied background in homecare including complex care. I love being part of the team, supporting the Angels and the clients. I visit perspective clients at home from an initial care enquiry, through to onboarding and ensuring that the care meets their needs and choices. I also support the Angels with their progress and development and training. In my spare time I like to spend time with my children and family.
I have two dogs called Buzz and Misty who take up a lot of my time.
My ethos to care is always to treat someone how I would want to be treated and to get the most independent outcome I can get.
