A field care supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality care is delivered to clients in their own homes. You will be responsible for supervising and supporting care workers, conducting assessments and reviews, observing compliance to Visiting Angels policies and assessing competency for the care team. In addition to this the field care supervision is responsible for gaining and responding to feedback given from clients and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Carer centricity is at the heart of this role in the support delivered to the care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact between clients, families, care workers, and management.
• Supervise and support a team of care workers to ensure they provide high-quality care.
• Conduct regular observations to monitor the performance of the care team
• Conduct regular competency assessments to monitor the performance of the care team
• To work in collaboration with the Care Management team
• Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to the care team.
• To conduct client courtesy calls to all clients and ensure feedback is listened to and responded to within evaluation and adapting working ways to evidence lessons learned
• To conduct initial assessments for new clients and create outcome lead person centred care plans and comprehensive risk assessments as and when required to support the care management team
• Ensure care services comply with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care delivery and supervision.
• Escalate any concerns or complaints from clients or their families or caregiver to the registered manager
• To take park in the out of hours emergency on call responsibility on a rota basis to meet the needs of the business
• Professional and customer focussed approach to handling initial enquiries ensuring a nimble approach is taken to booking a client assessment.
• Identify areas for improvement in service delivery and suggest enhancements.
• Undertake infield support and training for caregivers as and when required
• To keep abreast with regulatory and procedural requirements.
• To immediately report any issues of concern related to the care provided to Clients, Caregiver performance, deterioration in Client’s presentation, etc.
• To ensure that proper selection and assessment procedures for potential Clients are undertaken, and to determine whether Visiting Angels is able to meet their needs.
• To assist in ensuring that safe and effective care is provided to all Clients for which Visiting Angels is responsible.
• To work in accordance with standards agreed with the Registered Manager, legislative requirements, relevant regulations, and in line with accepted best practice.
• To provide leadership to Visiting Angels care team
• To ensure that Clients have a lifestyle according to their wishes, and that it is as meaningful and purposeful as possible
• To ensure that all Clients have a person-centred Care Plan that reflects their personal support needs, wishes and aspirations and to promote a culture of person-centred care planning for all Clients.
• To ensure that comprehensive care risk assessments are compiled for all Clients, based on the individual Client’s needs and requirements. To ensure that these risk assessments are evaluated and reviewed on the dates agreed or sooner if the Client’s circumstances change.
• To ensure that all Clients are safeguarded at all times; and that safeguarding alerts happen correctly, appropriately and in good time to the Registered Manager or Managing Director.
• To work with the Registered Manager to ensure that the issues highlighted from audits are rectified in good time; and to always work to ensure compliance with both the Care Quality Commission
• To ensure that Clients are safeguarded at all times and care is delivered to a standard in which keeps them safe.
