One client. One home. Time to care properly.

We are looking for an experienced, dependable Live-In Care Assistant to support an elderly lady living in her own home in a peaceful, rural setting near Faversham.

She is living with mild dementia and needs someone who can provide companionship, reassurance and practical support, while helping her remain as independent as possible in familiar surroundings.

This is a regular 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off placement with the same client, giving you the time to get to know her properly, understand her routines and provide calm, consistent care.

What the role involves

The focus of this placement is companionship and support with everyday life.

Your role will include:

• Providing genuine companionship and conversation
• Offering reassurance and gentle prompts where needed
• Helping maintain familiar routines
• Preparing meals and drinks
• Light household support
• Shopping and errands
• Driving and accompanying our client to appointments, activities and outings
• Encouraging independence and involvement in everyday life
• Noticing changes in wellbeing and communicating them appropriately
• Keeping clear care notes and staying in touch with the Visiting Angels team

Good live-in care is not about taking over.

It is about knowing when to help, when to encourage and when to step back.

Who this role will suit

You will need previous experience supporting older people, but you do not necessarily need previous live-in care experience.

We are looking for someone who is naturally patient, kind and observant. Someone who is comfortable building a trusted relationship with one client and who respects the fact that they are working in another person’s home.

You should be confident working independently and comfortable with a quieter, rural setting.

At the same time, you will not be left to manage everything alone. You will have a local Visiting Angels team behind you, with full paid training and ongoing support.

What you’ll need

For this placement, you must have:

• Previous experience supporting older people
• A full UK driving licence
• Your own vehicle, available for shopping and escort duties
• Good spoken and written English
• The Right to Work in the UK
• The ability to commit reliably to a 2-week live-in rota
• A caring, professional and dependable approach

Experience supporting someone with dementia would be helpful, but full paid training is provided.

What you’ll receive

This placement pays £136 per day / £952 per week, plus a £50 weekly food allowance.

You will have the consistency of supporting one private client, a predictable two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rota, and the backing of a team that values the work carers do.
