Visiting Angels really are angels! Courtney and her team could not be a better fit for my parents. My mum has dementia and my dad is doing 24/7 care. We asked Visiting Angels to step in with some additional care for my mum to give my dad a break and it’s really working fabulously. The peace of mind that my Dad is now able to get out of the house for a few hours knowing my Mum is being well looked after is really worth everything. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the team if you need help for your family. – LB

My dad found Visiting Angels on Google after looking for extra help with my mum… can’t sing their praises high enough.. from the home visit to explain the care that would be put in place and to now have them as part of my mums care package has been so smooth and see the smile they bring to my mums face and sing along with her while getting ready.. such a professional company who also go above and beyond to make everyone comfortable.. Felicity and Courtney a special thank you for choosing staff that love and are proud to be carers. -LW

I am lucky enough to be part of this amazing team at Visiting Angels. Felicity and Courtney are so lovely, very passionate and supportive about everything they do. From the training given to visiting the clients. The girls make sure they have a good rapport with all staff and every family, this is why each client is given the best care possible. I would recommend VA to anyone looking for care, you’ll definitely be in safe, caring hands here. – LH

If you are looking for a team of caring professionals, then look not further than Visiting Angels. I am very pleased that I chose them. They give outstanding care for my dad on their visits. – IB

I cannot recommend Visiting Angels highly enough, the service they have provided to my 95 year old mother has been excellent. From the initial meeting with Courtney to establish what was required, to the delivery has been very professional and more importantly very caring. Mum knows who is coming in advance and has met each career in advance. All the carers are very professional and to use my mums words are “lovely”. Even the surprised unannounced visits on mums 95th birthday with “Rosie”, was so much appreciated by mum, certainly over and above what we expected. If anyone is looking for carers, who actual care about those they are are looking after, look no further than Visiting Angels, more than happy to recommend.- CY

Having had a bad experience with carers for my wife, we contacted Visiting Angels and now experience the very best of home care. They have integrated seamlessly into our lives, all the staff are wonderful and provide a professional service always with laughter and a smile. We no longer consider them as carers but as friends. I would highly recommend Visiting Angels to anyone looking for care for a loved one, to look no further, you will not be disappointed. -RF

After using Visiting Angels we cannot sing their praises highly enough. We’re absolutely delighted with the ongoing support provided by the whole team. It has dramatically improved our relative’s quality of life. After being so resistant to the idea of this level of care, they have not only accepted it but look forward to the visits and sing the praises of everyone for their kindness and respectful care. – NB

The team at Visiting Angels consists of terrific staff that are very well trained in caring for the elderly, also very helpful and friendly. The staff at VA’s have improved my quality of life and I look forward to their four visits per week, pleasure to have them as my carers. I would recommend Visiting Angels to any elderly person or couples looking for a caring agency, they are first class. – MH

A great place to work! My part-time working experience at Visiting Angels was amazing. They are a people-centric company, not only for their clients but also for their employees. I received full training before I got onboard, and people were patient to guide me through at my first few visits. They’re also very flexible and supportive regarding my schedule, which made my work easy and pleasant. I learned and enjoyed greatly from this special experience. Thank you all, I wish our paths may still come across one day, until then I wish you all the best :) – PP

Research by Age UK shows that of the 3.6 million older people who live alone in the UK, 1.9 million often feel ‘ignored or invisible’. It also reveals that loneliness can be as harmful for health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

Meet the Team

Courtney Bennett-Pearson, Managing Director

My work within Health and Social Care began as a student nurse in 2014. My joy of working with the elderly and desire to create lasting relationships with those I cared for, led me down the unusual path for a young nurse, of choosing to work within residential nursing homes. My personal goal was to have a positive impact on the quality of care within what is inevitably an unfamiliar setting. It is evident that staying in the comfort of their own home has far superior outcomes for those requiring care.

With the uglier side of social care regularly smeared in the media, I recognised the hard work, kindness and resilience of my colleagues going unrecognised and under-valued, and realised there must be a better way. It is my belief that by improving the treatment of care staff within the sector, we can ultimately improve the quality of care they deliver, and change the wider public opinion of the Social Care sector.

Felicity Bennett-Pearson, Managing Director

Having run her own successful businesses over the past decade, Felicity brings her extensive experience in business and marketing to the team, focusing on Visiting Angels growth and development. Having been a business ambassador for The Princes Trust, focused on inspiring others to pursue their dreams through her role as a mentor, Felicity was honoured with being invited to The Prince’s Trust 40th Anniversary garden party at Buckingham Palace which both Courtney & Felicity attended together. Throughout her career, Felicity has always brought relentless optimism, motivation and an element of fun to those around her. Our own personal cheerleader and social media guru, Felicity will be a familiar face to our Visiting Angels family, whether you are a client or carer. Since the launch of Visiting Angels Edinburgh East, Felicity has thrown herself into the world of care, keen to learn as much as possible, gaining hands-on experience. Felicity is passionate about all things Visiting Angels, bringing together her expertise in business and her passion for helping others, driven to make a difference and help those who need it most while creating a welcoming, supportive work environment where everyone is valued as equals.

Catherine Hogarth, Registered Manager

Working in the care industry began at a very young age for me, with my mother being a nurse and having family members who required support with their care. I joined the industry formally at 18 and fell in love with health and social care and really felt I could make a difference to someone’s life. I started my career as a carer and quickly established there was always more to learn, I did numerous courses over the years including my SVQ2-4 in health and social care, this allowed me to grow within my career and work my way through the ranks. I love meeting new people and being part of the reason, they smile. I have spent time working in care homes and domiciliary care experiencing the good, the bad and the ugly. I followed Visiting angels for some time and loved their vision and outlook on care, to say I was ecstatic to see the role of manager to come up is an understatement, as I feel working with Visiting angels, I can really make a difference in the client’s life and also my colleagues’ life’s. I believe that you should always care for someone how you would like your family to be cared for, no job is ever to big or small and will always be done with a smile on our faces.

Leigh Connor, Care Co-ordinator

I decided when my children started school, I would like a change in direct. I had worked in hospitality management all my life. So, I knew a good bit about service, going the extra mile and putting the guest first. I started a 6 year honours degree course in Health & Social Care and in the final year I gained experience working as a home carer. After I completed my degree, we were in the middle of covid and I took a position in the hospital doing Occupational Therapy support, but I quickly realised that my skills lay within a care environment where I could give the care, I had spent 6 years training for. I thoroughly enjoy seeing people flourish in their own home, to have autonomy in their care, how it creates independence, which in turn helps clients to improve physically and mentally. So here I am with Visiting Angels who have the same outlook as me. Putting the client first, promoting a person-centred approach, giving people the ability to be able to stay at home, agreeing that no job request within the home is off limits, because these things that are important to you. Well, that’s what I think, I hope you do too, Oh! Let’s not forget to laugh and smile.

Jane Tranter, Care Co-ordinator

As our longest running carer, Jane has been with us from the very start. Jane was celebrated as our first ‘Angel of the Year, 2023’. She quickly moved into the role of Supervisor and is inevitably moving into the office as a care co-ordinator. An integral part of our team, Jane is loved by both our team and clients. Jane is the example of what excellent care should be and her passion shines through. ‘After being a personal assistant for 4 years and sadly losing both my clients, I was feeling nervous about being employed by a care company again. However from the first phone contact, interview and training I couldn’t have been happier that I had applied to work with visiting angels. This is not your standard care company. Which is why I enjoy working with them. It’s care on a very personal level no details are missed. I’ve found my second home. I absolutely love my role with visiting angels and look forward to visiting my regular clients and getting know new ones. I would definitely recommend us to family and friends for their relatives. Also I highly recommend to anyone in care looking for a change. You will love it as much as I do.’

Rosie Bennett-Pearson, Head of Happiness

Star of the show at Visiting Angels Edinburgh East. Rosie is our famous, furry little angel, who brightens everyone’s day. Her smiley, happy face brings carers and their loved ones into the office on their days off just to see her and make their day. Everyone’s favourite member of the team, Rosie even visits some of our animal loving clients for cuddles and biscuits just to make their visit extra special. A true Visiting Angel.

Visiting Angels have been a wonderful addition in our lives. They go above and beyond to make sure my elderly father who has oncoming dementia is fed, given his medication and is a helping hand around the house. They spend time getting to know him and talk about his life. Or they might take him in a little walk. My dad is a private person and it’s taken a couple of months for him to get used to the carers popping in every day but he has accepted this new routine because the carers are so pleasant, trust worthy and friendly. Such lovely genuine ladies. Every one of them. I would highly recommend Visiting Angels to anyone looking for a carer for an elderly parent, relative or even for yourself to help around the house or for a bit of company. We feel grateful to have found carers that are genuine, kind, caring and trust worthy. Very rare these days. – KS

Employing the services of visiting angels to support my parents has made a huge difference not just to them but to me as well, easing some of the pressure as a sole carer with other family being long distance. Jane certainly is an angel, mum and dad bonded very quickly with her and nothing is too much trouble, be it supporting personal care, housework or hobbies and activities such as baking that they otherwise would not do on their own. Jane is also happy to take them in her car for a weekly shop now that they no longer drive and takes mum out to meet friends for coffee. The difference in our lives has been significant and has helped mum rebuild her confidence and activity levels after a long period in hospital. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Visiting Angels to anyone looking for support. – HT
