Meet the Team
Kya Safari – Managing Director

I was drawn to this work three years ago while serving as the primary caregiver for a sibling diagnosed with rectal cancer. During this time, I learnt the importance of compassionate care and companionship while giving care. Through this experience, I became deeply motivated to be involved in care provision, offering person-centred care that makes clients feel valued, respected, and cared for, something we felt was greatly lacking when we sought care for my loved one.
As a mother of two, I am very patient and dedicated. Coming from a large family, I have values deeply rooted in community and service. I have a wealth of experience working as an Employment Engagement and Recruitment Officer and I have also managed a successful family business for five years.
I am looking forward to making a difference in my community in the way quality and bespoke care is delivered and at the same time motivate, celebrate, and empower our caregivers.
Claire Ollivier – Registered Manager

My professional career in Health and Social Care started in 2009 after caring for my own grandparents and witnessing the many complications care services were having to overcome.
Consequently I enrolled on a Health and Social Care A Level, then degree, and started a care position in the sector to understand the role from a professional’s point of view. After graduating, I worked my way around varying roles in both community and residential environments until I became a Registered Manager myself.
I am a perfectionist, and like nothing better than an organised rota, a happy care team and most importantly, a client base receiving quality care from carers matched on personality as well as skill mix.
My passion is seeing a smile on the faces of my team and the clients they support. For me, Care isn’t a job, it’s a way of life and I definitely have the bug!!
When I’m not at work, you will find me outdoors, either socialising with friends or family, camping, or in my garden taming my shrubs. I am an animal lover and have a cat of my own and many adopted pets who I take great pleasure in looking after for friends and family when they are away.
Jane Thacker- Care Team Leader

I have over 30 years experience in the care sector, predominantly working in care homes before joining Visiting Angels in January 2024.
Since 2012 I have managed care homes however decided to move into home care as I saw the positive effect a family member had with carers in her own home. The carers became part of her family and opened up her world.
I have achieved my level 5 in health and social care, an NVQ assessor, I had been an infection control tutor, I am a registered dementia champion, dignity champion and I am passionate about promoting the interests of clients in our care and am looking forward to being a part of Visiting Angels East Notts
Emily Birks – Care Supervisor

After finishing college when I was 17, I began working in a Nursing home as a Hairdresser. Quickly I realised that my passion lay in supporting the residents in ways beyond cutting their hair. I began working as a Care Assistant and then transferred over to Domiciliary Care, which is where I found my calling.
In my career I have had the pleasure of working as a Senior Carer, Care Assessor, Team Leader and most recently, Care Supervisor. I have worked with Visiting Angels for almost a year at the fantastic East Nottinghamshire branch – it has been one of the best experiences!
When I am not at work, you would typically find me in my craft room getting up to something artistic whether that be knitting, painting or jewellery making.
My passion and drive is to ensure that every single client gets the very best standard of Care – no exceptions – and I am thrilled to be part of a company that values their Care Givers in a way that ensures this is able to be possible 365 days a year.
I had previously used another service for a family member and I cannot believe how much superior Visiting Angels is in caring for my uncle, I am very impressed and feel very reassured that although we cannot visit often, we know he is in good hands.
