The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is urging people to stay warm and watch out for individuals who are most vulnerable to the effects of the cold weather since low temperatures and potentially severe night-time frosts are predicted for all of England starting on Wednesday.
Here are some tips to help you stay warm!!
Layer Up
The best way to stay warm is to dress up in multiple layers instead of just one heavy piece of clothing. Base layers, such as thermal vests or long-sleeved tops, are affordable and can help trap heat. Stay covered, and you’ll stay warm.
Keep Your Hands and Feet Warm
You can control your body temperature by keeping your extremities warm. Wearing thick socks, a woolly hat and gloves will help you achieve this. If you’re sitting down, a shawl or blanket will help keep you warm.
Stay Active
Try to be as active as you can to improve your circulation. You can stay warm by engaging in light exercise.
Keep draughts out and heat In
Try to seal off any draughty spots in your house such as the spaces around your window frames keyholes and beneath doors.
Making warm dishes and drinks
Keep yourself warm by regularly consuming hot beverages and meals like porridge, soups, and stews.
Stay safe and toasty!
