Your home is where your heart is

Your home is a foundation of love, warmth and relationships. If you need support at home, may it be due to a long term chronic illness, later life or short term support, why would you want to move away from the place you love and know best? If you want to continue to stay independent and happy at home, we can help you.

Visiting Angels’ mission is to help individuals remain independent in their own home and stay connected with their loved ones.

We provide unrushed care tailored to your needs. In addition, you will be able to choose your own caregiver who will be matched to your personality because we know that inviting someone into your home is a big decision so you will need to be allocated the best Angel.

At Visiting Angels, we set the bar extremely high as we believe that people who need care should feel confident and independent while making a decision. It is important to us to ensure that the care you receive from us is consistently tailored, flexible and adaptable to your personal needs and preferences.

After the initial consultation stage and when we begin to know you and your care needs a little better after the non-obligatory in-home assessment; our experienced care team will review your care needs, produce a detailed care plan, and shortlist wonderful caregivers for you and your family to select.

How Does Visiting Angels Work?

Why we are different

When it comes to care, everyone is different and people’s needs are unique to their circumstances. We meticulously note every tiny detail of an individual’s requirements allowing us to shape every element of our service to the individual and their families needing care and support.

Our care is completely person-centred for every client. For example, some individuals are really independent at home but need assistance with grocery shopping, or need to be taken to their hospital appointment and other clients would need complete in-home support from personal care to cooking meals.

From 1 – hour home care visits to 24 – hour around the clock care, we can offer as much support as you need. We ensure that our care and support is personalised for every client.

Our exceptional care at home service comes down to the following factors:

Caregiver Recruitment: We have a 6 stage selection process to ensure that we have an exceptional caregiving team. Our 7 stage selection process consists of the following: 1.Phone interviews, 2. Personality test, 3. Formal interviews, 4. Shortlisting, 5. DBS checks, 6. Reference checks & 7. Full in-depth training provided by our care manager

Choose Your Own Caregiver: We match you to someone who would suit your personality & requirements in the best way.

An Unrushed Approach To Care: We will not rush your care and that’s our promise to you. Together, we will create an individualised care plan  for you and your loved one.

“Our sincerest thanks for providing our loved one, Ruth, with some of the kindest people to ever enter our home. Mum’s caregiver not only provided Ruth with daily care but nourished her mind, body and soul with loving words and even song.”

“I appreciate all you have done for my mother. Visiting Angels was there at a time when we really needed help and we are very thankful for that. Visiting Angels have been great to work with. I would recommend your organisation to anyone who needs assistance.”

Our Angels

Choosing your own caregiver contributes to our personal approach. You will be able to receive care from someone who is matched to your needs and preferences.

Too often, caregivers are underappreciated but at Visiting Angels, we put our carers at the centre of our service to ensure that they can truly deliver an unmatched level of personal care.

We take the time to select kind, friendly and warm carers for our clients, as we truly believe that quality care focuses on the needs of the individual.

Because we are all different, finding the right person for you should not be rushed of standardised.

We recruit highly skilled, talented caregivers but in addition to validating their knowledge and experience we also complete personality profiling to understand a little more about their character.

We know that you don’t just want a person to look after your family, you want that special person, you want a Visiting Angel.

“Many, many thanks for all you do! You have given “above and beyond the call of duty” God bless you a hundredfold!”

Funding Care

Some funding for care may be available from the Local Authority and it is an important difference for home care that the equity in your property will not be considered as an asset. Unlike healthcare from the National Health Service, adult social care is not necessarily free. Most families contribute to some or all of their care and support costs. To understand whether funding may be available the Local Authority will complete a financial assessment taking into account earnings, pension, savings and investments.

There are however some elements of support which will covered by the state including intermediate care or reablement for up to six weeks, community equipment such as bath seats and minor adaptations to the home.

Because of limited funding and to give themselves the choice of who provides their care many people have decided that they would prefer to take a direct payment from the Local Authority. By making this choice if it is available, you will be able to receive a payment instead of taking care from the council.

You can then use this funding to choose the care provider that you want to work with not just the one that the council selects.

All of this means that if you qualify for social care funding it is possible to top up your care package with a small additional payment to enable you to fund your care with Visiting Angels. If, however your financial assessment means that you do not qualify for funding at all, we are also able to introduce you to expert financial advisors locally who can help you to pay for your care needs.

Our team can direct you to the right people to discuss your care needs. We know that it can seem daunting, but we have the expertise to help you through the process.
