Triple Shortlist Success at the Great British Care Awards!

We are thrilled to announce that Visiting Angels Stirlingshire has been named a Regional Finalist in three categories at the Great British Care Awards for Scotland!

This achievement is a huge honour and a celebration of the incredible people who make our service so special. We are proud to see three outstanding nominations recognised:

Dementia Carer Award – Georgeta

In just five months with Visiting Angels Stirlingshire, Georgeta has transformed the way we support clients living with dementia. With patience, empathy, and instinctive compassion, she has helped individuals regain independence, dignity, and confidence.

Her gentle approach has kept one vulnerable client safe at home instead of moving into residential care, while another, once fearful of personal care, now feels comfortable and supported in daily routines.

Georgeta also uplifts colleagues, sharing best practice and leading by example. As her teammate Celine Quirie says:

“Georgeta is everything you hope a dementia carer will be; calm, intuitive, and genuinely invested in each person.”

Care Team Award – Visiting Angels Stirlingshire

Our care team has been recognised for redefining what home care means. They focus on the little details that make a big difference; preparing tea just the way a client likes it, playing familiar music, or making sure a bed is just right. These simple yet powerful acts preserve dignity and spark joy every day.

It’s not just about how they care for clients, but how they care for each other. Through angel cards, shoutouts, team meetings, and constant encouragement, they’ve created a culture of compassion that radiates outward into every home they visit.

One family shared:

“Thank you for literally being ‘visiting angels’ to Dad. Without you, his life would not have that magic touch you brought to him.” – John

Home Care Registered Manager Award – Clare Tait

Our Registered Manager, Clare Tait, has been shortlisted for her inspirational leadership. With a team of over 30 carers, Clare leads side by side, always approachable, compassionate, and people-first.

She goes above and beyond, from supporting carers through personal challenges, to stepping in herself at times of crisis to ensure families receive the care and dignity they need. Thanks to her efforts, one family was even able to bring their loved one home from residential care, where they have since thrived.

Clare has also strengthened the team with comprehensive training, mentorship schemes, and a culture of continuous learning. As colleague Hayley Ure explains:

“Clare doesn’t just manage, she makes every person feel seen and valued.”

A Proud Moment for Our Team

To be recognised as Scotland Regional Finalists in three categories at the Great British Care Awards is a proud moment for everyone at Visiting Angels Stirlingshire.

Whether it’s Georgeta’s extraordinary dementia care, the dedication of our entire care team, or Clare’s compassionate leadership, each nomination reflects the heart and soul of what we do, delivering care with dignity, respect, and humanity.

Whatever the results at the awards, our team are already winners in the eyes of the families and clients we are privileged to support every day.
