Going Above and Beyond, Even Off the Clock

At Visiting Angels, we are proud to share the story of one of our dedicated caregivers, Angela Walton who is a shining example of the compassion and commitment our team brings to every role.

While out on her own time, Angela noticed one of her clients waiting alone at a local bus stop. Something didn’t feel quite right, she wasn’t due to be out, and Angela’s instincts immediately kicked in.

Without hesitation, Angela gently approached and discovered that the client’s husband, who cares for her at home, had fallen asleep and hadn’t realised she’d wandered out. Acting quickly and with care, Angela made sure she got home safely.

Later, the client’s daughter called Angela over a video chat, overwhelmed with gratitude.

It’s moments like this that remind us what being a Visiting Angel truly means, caring from the heart, whether you’re on the clock or not.

Angela’s compassion and dedication have truly shone through, earning her the title of Visiting Angels South Yorkshire Care Giver of the Year 2025. This recognition celebrates her outstanding commitment to the people she supports and the difference she makes each day.   • Chatter Club – Our Chatter Club is a welcoming social group run with the same warmth and care we bring to our clients. Valerie, one of our wonderful part-time carers, helps keep the fun going by hosting the quizzes and organising the raffle, there is always plenty of laughter and friendly competition!
