As we grow older we lose strength and mobility due to various issues like injuries, illness and  health conditions. It becomes increasingly difficult to do activities. Carrying out some light weight, easy physical activities for elderly help in aging better.

Aging should not stop one from doing what they like to do .  There are many ways to have fun, boost mood, and stay engaged. Physical activity will also help in keeping healthy , energetic and independent.

Benefits of staying active :

  • Lower risk of heart diseases, diabetes, dementia etc
  • Increases mobility and strength, reducing injuries and falls
  • Provides a fun routine in mundane life
  • Improves mental health
  • Helps maintain the ability to live independently.

Here are some examples of physical activities that are suitable for elderly:

1. Brisk walking

Brisk walking is a good example of moderate aerobic exercise. It is free, it is simple and it can be made fun with the company of family friends or a furry pet. It helps to prevent a vast variety of diseases and also helps maintain a healthy weight.
