\nIt has been interesting to see that, since the New Prime Minister, Andy Burnham announced a major push to overhaul adult social care in England, that the subject of care givers has been far more constructive. Care is often viewed as a quiet duty- something to be endured rather than celebrated. Too often, both the person receiving the care and the person providing it simply hope to make it through, with the relationship surviving intact rather than flourishing.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, I started watching Ann Droid on BBC iPlayer, staring the wonderful Sue Johnston alongside Diane Morgan\u2019s brilliantly understated, deadpan performance.<\/p>\n

Initially, what struck me was the clash in communication styles. The contrast between Sue and the android is both awkward and genuinely funny, making for compelling viewing. Beneath the humour, however, lies something much more profound. As the story unfold, what first appears to be a battle of wills gradually transforms into a relationship built on trust, understanding and genuine connection.<\/p>\n

One particular moment stood out. As the android prepares to leave, it calmly reminds Sue about her medication and even tells her what\u2019s for lunch- toad in the hole. On the surface, these are simple practical details. Yet Sue\u2019s reaction tells a different story. Her posture softens, her expression changes, and you can see that what she is really responding to isn\u2019t the information itself. She is responding to the feeling of being noticed, remembered and cared for.<\/p>\n

That moment perfectly captures what great care should be. It isn\u2019t simply about completing tasks or following a care plan. It\u2019s about helping someone feel valued, understood and seen as an individual.<\/p>\n

For me, that\u2019s exactly what Visiting Angels stands for. At the heart of everything we dio is the belief that the client comes first. We don\u2019t just provide care, we build relationships. We take the time to understand the person behind the care needs, recognising their routines, preferences, stories and individuality. Because when people truly feel seen, dignity grows, trust develops, and care becomes something far more meaningful than a service. It becomes a relationship.<\/p>\n

In many ways, Ann Droid reminds us that the smallest acts of kindness and attention often have the greatest impact. At visiting Angels<\/a>, insuring every client feels seen, heard and valued isn\u2019t just part of our job- it\u2019s at the heart of everything we do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
