It all started with an urgent call from the client’s wife, seeking immediate assistance for her husband. The following day, we conducted an assessment to determine his specific needs. It was clear that he required three daily care visits at home – morning, lunch, and evening. Without hesitation, we agreed to begin caring for him the very next morning.
Unfortunately, two weeks after starting the service, the client’s health declined and he had to be hospitalized. Despite not being on the hospital’s care provider-approved list, Katie stepped in to help with unwavering commitment.
Katie faced some challenges while fulfilling the client’s needs, but she didn’t let them come in the way of her commitment. She tended to the client’s care at home calls and even provided support to the client’s wife. When the hospital discharged the client, Visiting Angels encountered some resistance in providing care as they were not on the approved list. However, the client’s wife, who was impressed by their exceptional service, insisted on having Visiting Angels as their care provider. She said ‘I only want Visiting Angels’.
The team, under Katie’s leadership, overcame obstacles, doubling the care calls to meet the client’s requirements. Even the Managing Director and other team members joined in to fulfil care calls when needed.
As care at home continued, the client’s wife found solace in the support provided. This allowed her to take much-needed rest and be a wife rather than just a carer. Her glowing feedback emphasized that Visiting Angels stood out among the many care companies she had worked with. She went on to recommend the service to others, including healthcare professionals.
