Strengthening Our Community Through CPR Training and Local Engagement

At Visiting Angels North Hertfordshire, caring goes beyond the homes we support. We believe strong care starts with strong communities. That is why local community engagement is a key part of who we are and how we work.

Recently, our team has been out in the community delivering CPR training, helping local people gain life-saving skills while raising awareness of the importance of preparedness and care.

Why community engagement matters in home care

Home care is built on trust, relationships, and connection. Being present in the community allows us to understand local needs and support people long before care services are required.

Community engagement helps to:

  • Build stronger relationships with local families

  • Promote health, safety, and wellbeing

  • Increase awareness of care and support options

  • Encourage early conversations about care planning

By being visible and accessible, we aim to make care less daunting and more approachable.

Bringing CPR training into the community

Our CPR training sessions were designed to be practical, informative, and accessible. These sessions gave local residents the confidence to act in an emergency and the reassurance that they could make a difference when it matters most.

CPR training helps individuals:

  • Recognise emergency situations quickly

  • Respond with confidence and clarity

  • Provide immediate support while waiting for emergency services

  • Potentially save a life

For us, this is a natural extension of our mission to protect dignity, safety, and wellbeing.

Supporting more than just care needs

As a home care provider, we often support people after health scares, hospital admissions, or sudden changes in wellbeing. CPR training aligns closely with our role in supporting families before, during, and after challenging moments.

By offering training within the community, we aim to:

  • Empower individuals with knowledge

  • Reduce fear around emergency situations

  • Support safer, more informed communities

  • Strengthen local resilience

These skills benefit everyone, not just those currently receiving care.

Our commitment to North Hertfordshire

We are proud to serve Hitchin, Stevenage, Letchworth, Baldock, and Biggleswade. Our caregivers live and work locally, and our community engagement reflects that local connection.

Whether through CPR training, local events, or community conversations, we are committed to making a positive impact beyond the services we provide.

Looking ahead

Community engagement will always remain part of our approach to care. We will continue to look for opportunities to support, educate, and connect with local people across North Hertfordshire.

If you would like to learn more about our services, future community initiatives, or career opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
