Our Angels are more than just private home carers—they are compassionate individuals dedicated to supporting our Clients with genuine care and love in their own homes. They truly have our Clients’ best interests at heart, understanding the importance of dignity, choice, and compassion in every aspect of their care. Visiting Angels go above and beyond to ensure that our Clients remain as independent and safe as possible, feeling supported every step of the way.

Unlike traditional caregivers, our Angels do not wear uniforms. Instead, they are smartly dressed, often resembling a granddaughter, daughter, relative, or friend accompanying you to the shops or appointments. This approach not only preserves dignity but also fosters a sense of familiarity and comfort.

Every Angel undergoes a meticulous recruitment process, including thorough profile checks, full training, DBS checks, and verified references. This ensures that our team is composed of highly qualified and trustworthy individuals.

Our Carer-Centric ethos places our Angels at the very core of our team and business. We value and respect each one of them, knowing them personally and welcoming them into our Visiting Angels family. We are committed to their growth and development, providing ongoing training and opportunities for career progression within the business.

By caring for our Angels, we create a positive and nurturing environment that leads to long-term staff retention and strong bonds with our Clients. We firmly believe that to deliver outstanding care to our Clients, we must first be outstanding in the care we provide to our team.

At our office, the kettle is always on boil and there is always a slice of cake and other goodies – ‘Angel Appetizers‘ to be found.

You decide the level of service. There’s no minimum requirement—it’s all about your needs and choices to stay happy at home. Services range from 1 hour a week to 24-hour care. The choice is yours.

If you would like to talk to us about one of our private home carers, or any other kind of support, please telephone the office 01462 547478 or send an enquiry through our contact page. A member of the office team will come to your home and visit you at a convenient time and day and explain about our services and answer any questions that you may have.

    Meet the Team

    Pooja Patel

    Managing Director

My grandma holds a special place in my heart, and thinking of her always makes me smile. Growing up in a joint Indian family was incredible with four generations living under one roof, surrounded by love and wisdom. Life threw challenges our way, like losing my father as a child and my mother’s long-term illness. But during those tough times, my grandma became my rock.

I cherished the time spent with my grandma, cooking together, and sharing stories. As years passed, our roles reversed. Seeking additional support, we explored homecare providers but were disappointed by short visits and different carers. We wanted consistent care from familiar faces in our cherished space.

We made significant sacrifices for many years to ensure my grandma received the care she deserved. Her passing shifted something within me. I left my job in the pharmaceutical industry, and I found my life’s purpose in providing others with exceptional, consistent care in the comfort of their homes. I want to surround them with their memories, possessions, and pets, helping families reclaim their roles without the burden of caregiving. Bringing back the unconditional love and connection of family bonds is my passion. I’m dedicated to offering the highest level of care, so others can experience the joy of being cared for while remaining in their cherished spaces

    Shelley Lowden

    Registered Manager

I began my career in health care in 2015, starting as a carer and working my way up to my current role as a Registered Manager. My journey into care was unplanned, but it quickly became a role I am deeply passionate about—a decision I have never regretted. I find immense joy in working with people, listening to their stories, and making a positive difference in their lives. Seeing someone smile because of the care and support they receive is incredibly rewarding.

As a manager, I take pride in nurturing my team of carers, sharing my knowledge, and watching them grow in their roles. Building their skills and confidence is a priority for me, and I value the opportunity to work closely with them. I believe in fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.

Currently, I am working towards completing my Level 5 Diploma, which is helping me to further develop my skills and knowledge. I thoroughly enjoy teaching carers and passing on the experience I have gained over the years, ensuring we all work cohesively to provide the best possible care.

Throughout my career, I have gained experience in various areas of care, including independent living schemes, care homes, nursing homes, and now domiciliary care. Of these, domiciliary care has become my favorite. I am passionate about enabling people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible, preserving their independence and dignity. This is where I feel I can make the most significant impact, and it remains a source of great fulfillment in my work.

    Laura Platts

    Area Development Manager

Laura is an experienced Business Development Professional within in the Care Industry.

Working across both Care Homes and Domiciliary Care, Laura has helped multiple businesses rapidly increase their intake of clients and staff. Laura uses her expertise in Sales and Marketing, to help businesses achieve their desired growth.

    Bella Hallam

    Head of Franchising

Bella’s career in care started at the age of 18 as a Care Giver. Having grown up in the industry she gained extensive experience in care delivery, care management, and business development. At Visiting Angels, Bella specialises in the coaching and development of our Franchisees to establish and develop successful businesses. From very early on in her career, Bella recognised the need for change in the sector and made it her mission to be able to influence that.

    Dan Archer

    UK CEO

Dan’s journey in home care started with a personal experience which wasn’t a positive one. He saw first-hand how damaging irregular and inconsistent care can be. His family struggled to secure a reliable home care service and he came to realise that he had to get involved to try to make a difference, to do home care differently.

Visiting Angels was launched in the UK because too many home care services pay lip service to the importance of their carers but do not match this with their actions. We don’t just talk about how important the Visiting Angels Family is we have built our business around our caregivers. Our Mission Statement explains our ethos and why we are different.

Dan’s career has given him experience of some of home care’s leaders in best practice and he has been able to introduce the very best of this into our homecare service.
