Meet the Team
Lisa Footman – Managing Director
I am a local girl, born and raised on the Fylde Coast into a family of medical professionals. My first experience of true community led care was as a teenager working in my parent’s pharmacy in Lytham town centre. I now live in Lytham with my husband and two teenage sons and play an active role in our local community.
At Visiting Angels Fylde Coast, we believe that the care sector is at a pivotal moment — a time for transformation and renewal. Exceptional care begins with exceptional caregivers, and that’s why we are dedicated to raising the standard of home care by investing in what matters most: the people who provide it.
The heart of our mission lies in valuing our local care professionals, not just in words but through real, tangible actions. We recognize that to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to those who need it most, we must first empower our caregivers. This means offering competitive salaries that reflect their vital role in the community, providing ongoing training and development opportunities, and creating a supportive work environment where they feel respected and appreciated.
Our approach is simple yet powerful: happy, well-trained caregivers provide better care. By investing in our team, we foster a culture of excellence, dedication, and empathy — qualities that directly enhance the lives of the families we serve.
We are proud to be part of this much-needed transformation in the care sector, and we invite you to join us on this journey. Whether you are seeking care for a loved one or are a care professional looking for a fulfilling career with an organization that truly values you, Visiting Angels Fylde Coast is here for you.
Together, let’s create a future where quality care starts with a commitment to those who provide it.

Donna Rutherford – Registered Manager

Not for a moment did I ever see myself with a career in care, however, care had a very different plan for me !!
After my mum’s progressive Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2015, we decided she could no longer live alone it wasn’t safe , and I knew a care home was completely out of the question, so her and her cat moved in with me and my then 9-year-old son -and that’s when our “unpaid” care journey began. Eventually, this led to me giving up work which enabled me to spend as much time with Mum as possible, it was then that I learned the true definition of both Empathy and Compassion. I look back over that time of my life as one of the hardest but also the one I gained the most wisdom from :
Wisdom that you are not alone -Wisdom that there is support out there for you
Wisdom that carers have the most beautiful souls and Wisdom that by having the courage to let others help you, in time you will have the courage to help
others ….. And that’s exactly what I did!!
In 2018 became a caregiver, and it wasn’t long before I joined an outstanding rated care provider, where I completed several qualifications in health and social care and also completed my training and education certificate – I spent time as a senior caregiver before progressing to the role of Assistant Manager and then becoming a Training & Development Manager. Each of these roles has deepened my love for our industry and has driven me to want to make a difference. This is exactly why I have joined Visiting Angels Fylde as their Registered Manager, so I am able to be part of a company whose mission is to create an environment where our carers can care more, our clients can live better, and their families can feel assured.
A company where we can begin to redefine the role of carers in society and by doing so, deliver a new standard of person-centred care.
A company that is the 1st to be Care-Centric by putting our carers at the heart of everything we do so we can make sure they feel valued, rewarded, and loved – to me, this sounds very WISE indeed!!
“Thank for literally being “visiting angels” to dad. Without you his life would not have that magic touch you brought to him. You will be treasured for your work.”
“I want to thank you for sending me such a wonderful Angel to help me during my recuperation. I always felt safe and comfortable when she was here.”
