Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care
Having Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease is not only challenging for those diagnosed but also for loved ones and caregivers. Providing care and support for these conditions requires, compassion, understanding, patience, and empathy.
Our strength-based approach focuses on the client, their strengths, skills, and capacity to promote a positive change, this is embedded and reflected in our care and support plan.

With a strength-based mindset, our support is based on
Consistent and Continuity of Care
You will have your team of specialist caregivers. This promotes consistency because your carer will always be a familiar face. Your carer will build a trusting relationship with you, and get to know and maintain your familiar routines, likes, and dislikes creating a supportive and safe environment for you.
Training
All your cares are fully trained and experienced in providing care and support for you. They are up to date with training and current legislation. Families can be assured that loved ones are well looked after and cared for.
Communication Strategies
As Dementia progresses, communication can be challenging. Your carers will find strategies to facilitate meaningful interactions with you by using simple and clear language, maintaining eye contact, and speaking calmly and reassuringly. They will also listen to and communicate with empathy and patience.
Promoting Independence
While dementia and Alzheimer’s may limit independence, it’s essential to encourage autonomy whenever possible. Your carers will offer choices, break down tasks into manageable steps, provide visual cues or written instruction, celebrate small victories, and use the strength-based approach to focus on your abilities rather than your limitations.
