At Visiting Angels East Midlands Central & Charnwood, we believe in creating warm, welcoming spaces where people can come together, share companionship, and enjoy meaningful moments. That’s why we are so proud to host our monthly Dementia Café, a friendly event designed to support those living with dementia, their families, and the wider community.
Successful gatherings
Our Dementia Cafés held on the first Wednesday of every month are always a huge success, with a fantastic turnout and plenty of smiles all around. Guests enjoy tea, coffee and delicious cakes, as well as the chance to relax and chat in a safe and supportive environment. Laughter, conversation and a few sing-alongs made the afternoon truly special, and we can’t wait to bring more entertainment in the months ahead.
What’s you can expect?
We’re always looking for new ways to keep the café fresh, engaging and fun. Here’s a little of what you can expect:
- Different singers and live entertainment at each session
- Chair dancing activities
- Music bingo
It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, share experiences, and most importantly, enjoy time together.
When and where?
Our Dementia Café runs on the first Wednesday of every month. Everyone is welcome whether you are living with dementia, caring for a loved one, or simply want to connect with the local community.
Date: 1st Wednesday of every month
Time: 10am – 12pm
Location: The Club House Lound Side, Chapeltown, Sheffield, S35 2US
Why Visiting Angels supports events like this
Loneliness and isolation are real challenges for many older people, and community events can make a huge difference. At Visiting Angels, we go beyond care visits to create opportunities for connection, joy and friendship. Our caregivers love joining in, supporting clients to take part, and being part of something bigger than day-to-day care.
Could you be a Visiting Angel?
Our Dementia Café is just one example of how our team makes a difference in people’s lives. If you have ever thought about working in care, Visiting Angels offers a unique approach where caregivers come first. We provide:
-
Flexible working and local opportunities

-
The chance to be part of community events that bring smiles and make memories
If you would like a role where you are valued, supported, and able to build real relationships with clients, we’d love to hear from you.
